Community Rules
Five plain rules for an educational community of adults preparing EB-1 petitions, and how reporting, blocking and moderation work.
Effective September 30, 2026 · version 2026-09-30.1
The five rules
- Be respectful. No harassment, threats, hate, discrimination or personal attacks.
- Protect privacy, yours and everyone else’s. Use your pseudonymous username. Never post anyone’s contact details, passport or ID, A-number, receipt number, case documents or other private information, and never try to identify another member.
- Be honest. No impersonation of anyone, including attorneys, government officials or other members. No fabricated credentials, invented approvals or opportunities, fake evidence, or promises about outcomes.
- No selling or solicitation. No advertising, paid services, client recruitment, or moving members to off-platform chats. Share relevant opportunities with the organizer’s link and any fees disclosed.
- Share experience, not legal advice. Members share personal experience and public sources. Do not present yourself as anyone’s lawyer. For advice about your own case, consult a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative.
Never allowed
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content. We remove it, and we suspend or permanently remove the member who posted it:
- Sexually explicit content or nudity, and any intimate image shared without the pictured person’s consent.
- Any content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers children (see our Child Safety Standards).
- Hate speech or slurs, harassment or bullying, violent threats, or content that encourages self-harm.
Also never allowed, and removed:
- Illegal content or promoting illegal acts, including immigration fraud such as fabricated evidence, ghost-written letters presented as independent, or paid citation schemes.
- Copyright infringement, spam, malware, or harmful or deceptive links.
How we check and moderate
Posts, comments, profile text, opportunity submissions and outcome reports that contain a term on our prohibited list are refused before they publish. A draft that seems to share contact details or offer paid services gets a warning, which never blocks it. Admins review reports and may remove or quarantine content, suspend accounts, and suspend repeat copyright infringers. Every action is logged. When we act on your content or account you get a private notice and can appeal it, and a person reviews every appeal.
Opportunities you submit are reviewed by an admin before they are published. Declining to publish one is a review decision, not an action on your content or account, and it cannot be appealed. Your submissions, on the Opportunities page, shows you the decision privately, naming the reason when one was recorded, and, while you have community access, you also get a notice if your Opportunities notifications are on. A decline does not stop you from submitting the opportunity again. An admin may also correct an opportunity you submitted, before or after it is published. A correction can change any part of it, including what you wrote, for example to fix a link, a deadline or a typo, and it stays listed under your username. The promise above of a notice and an appeal does not cover corrections: like a decline, a correction cannot be appealed. Your submissions shows you which fields were changed and the date of the latest change, and, while you have community access, you also get a notice if your Opportunities notifications are on.
Report and block
Use Report on any post, comment or outcome report, and Report member on a member’s profile. Only the admins see a report; the member you report is not told. Admins review reports promptly, usually within 24 hours, and act on content that breaks these rules. For a threat, child safety or an intimate image shared without consent, you can also email [email protected] with the subject "Child safety" or "Intimate image removal".
Use Block on a member’s post, comment, outcome report, listing or profile. You won’t see their posts, comments, outcome reports, listings or profile, and you won’t be notified about their activity. They aren’t told. They can still see what you post. Official admin posts stay visible. Admins can see who members block, to help keep the community safe. You can also report the member when you block them. Manage blocked members in My profile › Settings.
Child safety
Visa Jump is only for adults (18+). We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We remove such content, suspend the account involved, and, where the law requires it, report apparent child sexual abuse material to the CyberTipline of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Report the post or member in the app, or email [email protected] with the subject "Child safety"; we review child-safety reports promptly, usually within 24 hours. That address is our child-safety point of contact. Our Child Safety Standards (https://visajump.com/legal/child-safety) explain how to report and what we do.
Intimate images and copyright
To ask us to remove an intimate image of you shared without your consent, email [email protected] with the subject "Intimate image removal"; we act on valid requests within 48 hours (Terms § 10). Send copyright notices to [email protected] as our Copyright & DMCA Policy explains.
